| Harness & leash Morkie puppy training advice needed! Hello! I'm a new user, as well as the new owner of my first small breed dog: a beautiful little 9 week old 3 lb. Morkie named Teddy. He has truly been a joy, but also quite a little handful. We travel the country with our jobs, and are full-time RVer's. He has adapted very well to his new "home". Potty training is going as well as can be expected at his age. Our issue, and what I desperately need advice on is getting him the right harness, and getting him used to being on a leash. We are currently in a lovely RV park; when we take him out to go potty and get exercise, he runs in the direction of the nearest kids, or dogs, some which are quite large. We had quite a scare last week, when a larger dog nipped at him. My question: what is the best way to train him to get used to a harness and leash? I measured his chest and finally found a comfort harness that fits. He HATES it. Help! Thanks so much for any and all advice! |
