| territorial max Hey so im reaching to my yorkie mamas in quest of some answers ,comments or suggestions. My lil man Max is soon to be 1yr old and hes developed some bad habbits while we are staying at my boyfriend's place. My boyfriend has a dog about 2 months younger then max , andwhen we came here he wasnt very well trained as he barks at nearly every noise. Well long story short is Max has started growling at every noise outside. He isnt like this , he is usually very lazy always sleeping .I mean he is still lazy but plus the growling too much. Now, he has gained some kind of territorial behavior. Usually by 10pm we call him over to go sleep with us and if someone opens the room door while we in bed, he growls continously at them as if he doesnt recognize anyone. If the other dog jumps on the bed an tries to approach either of us ,he attacks. I mean not trying to hurt the dog just like warning, but still he attacks. What should i do about the behavior and growling at anything? ive been at my boyfriends for like 2 months , this started about 2 weeks ago

| My bf's dog has been doing this too. She is 6 yrs old, has been with his ex and kids over the years, and now has come to live with us. She's been with the 2 of us for 4 months, and still attacks me randomly sometimes when I go get in bed with him (she lays on the floor on his side of the bed). She'll viciously attack me from under the bed. Or, when he's sitting on the couch and she's laying next to him, she will very aggressively attack me if I go try to give him a kiss or get too close to him. I have no idea what to do because I can't go back and meet her when she was a puppy, and his only explanation is "she's never done this before." But she's known his kids and him and his ex since she was born. I'm new. She loves me 99% of the time except for these random acts of aggression.. We've tried disciplining her and firmly saying no and making sure she knows she's bad, but it's been 4 months now and the aggression is still there randomly when she's guarding him in bed or on the couch.. |
