belly bands?? My puppy is 4 months, 3 lbs and we are working on pee pad training. We are in the midwest and we are not sure if we will be able to take him out every winter. Has anyone had experience they could share about using the belly wraps to prevent accidents on the carpet? He would only be wearing it 15 min max. Even when we get him to pee before we take him out of his pen, he seems to reserve some pee for the carpet. We will get him fixed when he is ready, but this is potty training more than a territorial marking issue I believe.. Any tips, brands would help. Are the disposable ones sold at Petsmart okay?

| Hi and welcome to YT! I use belly bands with Presley and they have been a God send! Presley is trained, but I swear if he sets his mind to it he will lift that leg in my house. Once things calms down from Christmas I am going to TRY to crack down on him tighter, but he is a stubborn little fellow. I order my belly bands from Best Belly Bands on Facebook, they are very well made, made to fit your babies measurements and you choose your fabric. They are super quick on getting them to you as well, typically when I order they are here within 3 days. They cost about $6 and are worth every penny!

Belly bands sound perfect for what you describe.. My better half has a friend that sewed a few up with velcro on either end, just a cloth strap about 3" wide. We put those feminine hygiene napkins in them, they just stick on the belly band then put the belly band on the pup.. specifically> poise liners, #1 for LBL... We have a few bands so some can be in the laundry. The longer the velcro, the more adjustments can be made as your pup grows before replacing.

I use a belly band on Pepper when we visit someone else's home. I don't have to worry about any accidents.

Update: The belly band we got at Petsmart is working very well while he is on the carpet and in the car. I have only seen him pee in it 2 times so far. We have a cut maxi pad in it to catch the mess and it is super effective. Thank you all for your help. I still would like to buy a few if anyone knows of a cheap seller for nice adjustable bands.
