| How to control barking? I have a little girl that always has to have the last word. If I tell her no she barks. If I tell her shhh she barks. She's a bit sassy when she wants to be. How do I control the barking? I like it when we have little conversations on the couch and I ask her questions and she quietly barks like she's answering me but when she gets wound up when we're playing she gets barking and I can't get her to stop and she's pretty loud for such a little thing. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I don't know how assertive you want to get w/ it, but some have had great luck w/ the Bark Genie. You could use it only if/when she gets too far out of control - and you can say "no bark" at the same time; eventually the "no bark" should be enough. It emits a sound that is akin (for a dog) to running your fingernails on a chalkboard - ie, it bothers some people a lot and not others; same w/ dogs....may work for some and not others.

| I use a spray bottle of water to her butt. Just one threat and if she doesn't stop she gets a squirt and just hates it. That only took a few times , now all I have to say is " I'm gonna get the water bottle!" And she'll jerk her head around to look at me !......and stops barking...lol She's gotten worse as she's gotten older but stay on it..... |
