Double decker kennel with a boardwalk Yup. You heard that right. I took the kennel divider and laid it horizontally and fixed it to support weight so there's two levels in the kennel for the both of them... Izzy has claimed the top bunk. Then I slid the front door over leaving space for them to get through to the stairs I made that lead up to the windowsill that leads to their doggie door outside ( it goes through a window instead of a door). I did it all enclosed so there is no escaping, and it's all made out of the same black wire as the kennel, so it looks good . They have a small potty patch in the lower section of the kennel in case it's too cold outside . And since enclosing the windowsill walkway and doggie door cut off the cats ability to go outside, I left a hole for the cats to get in and out at the top of the tiny stairway where it's too high for Izzy and Toby the Tyrant to reach to escape. Basically, I was bored and built a penthouse kennel with an outdoor option to die for. And my uncle gave me a big mat to go on their balcony outside that warms up when it senses any weight on it. How cool is that. I'm pretty sure my dogs are spoiled rotten. And I even managed to get my boyfriend to agree to tether izzy whenever he has her outside of the kennel. That was difficult since he hates infringing on her freedom. But I told him if he didn't he was going to have to start cleaning up their messes instead of me. Somehow it worked. We will see how this goes. If it doesn't work I'll have to do it the old fashioned cramped and miserable way. But I figured I'd try this first. Wish me luck. |
