| Hyper puppy Malley, my 9mo. old yorkie, is a high energy puppy. Generally, she is pretty good until early afternoon when she starts barking and pacing because she wants to eat her PM meal. I've tried to distract her with bully sticks, kongs and walks but no luck. If necessary, I run errands during this time or just crate her during this period but would like to break this cycle. She loves her food and is very motivated by it. Once I feed her at 4:30, she is fine the rest of night. I also have a senior Westie who is very calm. Thx for your suggestions! |

| I would think she is not getting as much to eat as she needs. The recommendation on the bag is just that a recommendation. If she is high energy then she may very well need more food. She is still a puppy and not only is energetic but needs extra nutrition for growing and development bones, joints and organs. Unless she is obese (which is very unlikely for a puppy) she needs the food she is craving. |
