| Toilet Training Hi I have a yorkshire terrier which I absolutely adore. He is now 6 months old and he has done fantastically well with the toilet training. I live in a flat, on the second floor. So far, he has stopped poo inside - he only goes for poo outside which is fantastic. However, sometimes he will pee inside on the carpet. I work for long ours - I leave home at 6 in the morning (so he goes to the toilet at 5am). My husband then takes him at 8:30 again before he leaves for work. I return from school at 5 :30 in the afternoon and he goes outside . He pees about three times and he poo as well. I don't really know if he is going for wee in the house when I am not in - there is nothing on the carpet but it might be that it dries out. Do you have any ideas? Any advise? Is it ok for him if he holds it for 10 ours. I feel is not fair for him. Could this cause any problems? Also, do you think I could have something for him to use when I am not in? If yes, how can I make him understand that it is only for when I am not in and that when I am in he should poo and wee outside as now? SORRY FOR THE LONG MESSAGE AND MANY THANKS AP |

| Hi and welcome to YT. I use piddle pads in the bathroom for Buster. He goes outside when we are at home. I can work long hours and I know I couldn't hold it that long myself. There are pads you can put down both washable and throw away brands, there is a type of dog litterbox, and there are boxes that have astro turf or real grass that you use.
