Potty training inside and outside Lexi is 7 months out and fully potty trained for outside, which is my preferred method. We have a partially finished basement and I usually take her out to go potty before we go downstairs, but a few times when down there she has gone potty on the floor. She just doesn't seem to understand not to go potty down there. Also, we are getting another pup next month, and my husband it going to put heating downstairs to we can have a larger area for the pups to stay when we are out of the house, and I am worried about them going potty on the floor while we are gone. Right now, when we leave, I have Lexi blocked off in the kitchen and she has never had an accident. I was thinking about training Lexi (and eventually the new pup) to use the pee pad when downstairs, but am worried it will confuse her for going upstairs. Also, any tips for pee pad training would be appreciated. Has anyone on here trained inside and outside? How did it go?

Ohh really interested in this. As we are about to have snow in a month and a bit. Plus once my studio is up I will be working in it. I would love to teach my Chewy bathroom is on pads or outside. Is this possible?

I am very interested as well…I am 'expecting' a new puppy in the fall and am wondering about duel training also. Predominantly my preference would be to take the dog out of doors but I would like that there was an option.

YT Addict | potty pad training I started on the inside and teach to go potty on command. Then I went outside after all the shots and heartworm flea protection in place. They use either one, because they go on command. It's great for travel and any situation. When it rains I put a pad down or when I have to leave for more than a few hours. I wouldn't do it any other way. My 14 week pup is still inside but when I take my six yr old out to potty I take baby with me so he can watch. In a few weeks I will start ppad outside where I want him to go. Then when he's released from Dr I will start outside with a regular time schedule outside. |

I plan on scooping the snow off the deck and let him go there. Heck you never know your pup might LOVE the snow and it wont bother him/her.
