 Potty training inside and outside
Lexi is 7 months out and fully potty trained for outside, which is my preferred method. We have a partially finished basement and I usually take her out to go potty before we go downstairs, but a few times when down there she has gone potty on the floor. She just doesn't seem to understand not to go potty down there. Also, we are getting another pup next month, and my husband it going to put heating downstairs to we can have a larger area for the pups to stay when we are out of the house, and I am worried about them going potty on the floor while we are gone. Right now, when we leave, I have Lexi blocked off in the kitchen and she has never had an accident.
I was thinking about training Lexi (and eventually the new pup) to use the pee pad when downstairs, but am worried it will confuse her for going upstairs. Also, any tips for pee pad training would be appreciated. Has anyone on here trained inside and outside? How did it go? |
