| New Yorkie Owner Hello, My wife and I are new puppy owners. Wanted to reach out to see if anyone had suggestions for us? The puppy is currently 8-9 weeks old and is a female. Any suggestions on crate training? Thank you in advance |

| Welcome to YT. I never crate trained a puppy, but many members have. They will be along shortly and offer their advise and suggestions. Good luck, you selected and awesome fun loving breed, yorkies are lil clowns that will capture your heart in a blink of the eye. Enjoy her.

| Welcome to YT. I wouldn't start crate training for a pup this young. Most breeders won't even release a Yorkie until 12 weeks because they need food available around the clock. For now, set up a safe place or expen with a potty pad, food, water and a bed. Once you start crate training you can still use this space for your pup when you aren't around. |

| Want to Welcome you to YT! I don't crate train so I can't help you there but there are many here who do and I'm sure you will hear from them. Your new furbaby is VERY young to be away from her mama so watch for hypoglycemia and you might want to have Nutrocal on hand, just in case. This is a great place to learn about Yorkies! Lots of very experienced folks here! Again, WELCOME!
