| Lexi's first day of obedience classes I was really nervous about the first day of class, but she did great! Well, she didn't really want to listen to the simple command of "sit" even though she has known that one for months, but she did so well with the other dogs and that was my biggest concern. She was the smallest one there, but there was a variety of different sized puppies. She had a lot of fun running around with the other dogs during play time. Maybe next class she will be more focused |

| Were you using treats or food to get her to sit? One thing I found was that if I fed Bentley prior to taking him to class, he was less likely to follow commands because he wasn't hungry. We take him in the evenings, so we skip his dinner (still feed him in the morning) and he's more than happy to eat his treats for dinner/training |

Thanks for the tip. She eats breakfast at 8 and the class was at 10 so she may not have been too hungry. Also, it was the first class so we had to do some paperwork first and intro stuff. We didn't get a whole lot of "training" in. Lexi is very picky with her treats. I didn't know to bring my own and she didn't like the ones the trainer had. So next time I will bring my own that I know she likes. I think that will definitely help some. | |
