| you can also bring an umbrella on walks. I remember reading on a thread here that they used the umbrella to keep their yorkie from being harmed by a larger dog. I carry one when we walk now. its small and compact but could be very handy if I run into an unleashed dog. just thought I;d add that.

| YT 1000 Club Member | I'm always on my guard. I live on a military base and we have leash laws, but still have individuals who think they're above the law. I'm an advocate of mace and if you can't get that, a big stick. |

| A similar situation happened to me 2 days ago. I was walking with my family and my dog, yorkie who is fear based aggressive and a bigger dog, don't know the breed, ran from his owner (was off lead) and came straight to my dog (on lead) looked in his eyes and attacked him ( i was so scared because i knew my dog will become more fearful from now. Starting to scream to the owner to take his dog from my dog and she didn't bother. My husband shout at dog and made a sign with the hand like he wants to hit him and finally left. I told the lady to keep the dog off lead because he is aggressive and she answered : my dog is not aggressive and she left. Now I am more scared to approach a dog and I don't know how my yorkie will be (Good luck with your dog and all the best. Last edited by deea; 07-01-2014 at 05:56 AM. |
