| Uncontrollable marking I have a 6 month old male yorkie. Im debating on getting him fixed or not. At first I was against it, but now i almost think i have no other option. He is not like most dogs i think. He was humping at like 4 months old maybe even earlier. And he hikes his leg and marks all over the house. Would getting him fixed now stop him from marking and humping or is it too late? p.s he is potty trained |

| Have you tried training him not to mark?

| Belly band? I was curious if you had thought about using a bellyband for him when he was indoors? If you google "bellyband for dog, images" you will see what I'm talking about if you are unfamiliar with these. Perhaps just a couple of those could help train him to refrain from marking (you'll need at least 2 as he will probably try to mark with one on so it will get a little bit of urine on the belly band and pantyliner). I do not like to neuter before 1 year but I did have to have my newest male neutered at 9 months (after he marked my Christmas tree-ha). Good luck!

| P-nut marked everything outside (we did train him not to mark in the house) but stopped almost as soon as we neutered him at 9 months. Pickles was neutered at a year and hasn't ever marked. P-nut only humps his blankie (his girlfriend, lol) once in a while now and never humans or dogs. He was a humping machine before neutering. Pickles doesn't hump at all. That's my experience with boys! |
