| nipping Hi I am new to Yorkie talk. I have been a dog owner for many years but this is my first Yorkie. I have had him in obedience training since at least 5 months old and am continuing with his training to become a therapy dog. He is now over 1 year old. One of my concerns is that he continues to nip, especially with my grandchildren. He is crate trained and he does spend some time during the day in his excersice pen, where most of the nipping occurs. I think he really hates his pen but sometimes I need a break from behaviors. He gets at least a mile or two walk a day, and we play fetch outside everyday which includes the training I have learned from class. I love my guy to pieces. I am on disability and he cuddles with me a lot during the day. I have used lemon to try to curb his nipping and a squirt bottle but he does not seem to respond very well to negative reinforcements. If anyone has help tips please let me know. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/ima...ser_online.gif http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/ima...ons/report.gif http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/ima...tons/quote.gif |
