| Oh yuck. I stepped in poop barefoot. I'm so frustrated with Mia! She thinks my apartment is her toilet. She is 4 months old and if I keep her on a schedule and take her out when I know she needs to go, she will go outside. If I don't catch her in time or am busy doing something, she will go wherever. She won't ring the bell and doesn't whine or do anything to tell me she has to go out. Will she ever learn how to tell me? She is 4 months old. And yes, yesterday I stepped in fresh poop barefoot. Yucky!

| Land mines! When you have a "terrierist" laying down land mines, always walk with your eyes on the floor!!! Patience, consistancy and positive reinforcement, and one day, she will realize she just cant teach YOU a dad gum thing, and she will give up and do it YOUR way! (Arent you glad it isnt a Great Dane Land Mine!!!) Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 03-02-2013 at 06:15 PM. |

| I had told Riley's first Vet how well he was doing going to the pad and she said he was doing that because he was so smart and that puppies don't have full bladder/rectal control until they are about 16-weeks old so perhaps you will start seeing some improvement soon...?! I just googled to see if I could find anything ... Found this: * Be reasonable. Puppies can physically hold their urine for only about two hours. Puppies typically are not mature enough to control their bladders and bowels until about 16 weeks of age, and cannot be expected to be reliably housetrained until reaching 6 months old. Dog Tip: Housetraining |
