| 4 years old and still pee's when he is excited I need help!! My little Max is a 4 year old, male yorkie. Wonderful dog, was very easy to potty train however he has always peed when he gets excited or nervous. Especially when someone reaches down to pet him. He does this even after he has just gone outside and peed. I keep reading that they grow out of it but shouldn't he have already grown out of it if he was going to? I have bought so many different belly bands and he squirms out of every single one. STINKER! Any advice? Thanks in advance! |

| My 2 year old Harley does this too. It was sooooo bad when he was a puppy. Everytime you touched him, he would pee. He has an anxiety disorder. It has gotten alot better, but I cannot leave him out while we are gone without his "pee pants" (this is what we call them) Anyway, I bought him a male diaper at petsmart. It has elastic in the edges and I find that it stays on so much better than the bellybands, even though it is a little bulky. He does not mind wearing them at all. In fact I have to sing him the pee pants song when I put them on and he loves it!! (hubby thinks i am crazy when i do this) Harley gets so excited! He would always wiggle his little thing out of those bellybands. Maybe you could try those. Good luck! |

| Thanks Florabug! Max does fine when he is home alone or if it is me. Its when people come over and for sure when someone reaches down and pets him or shows him attention. I will have to check out Petsmart. I kept hoping he would grow out of it or at least get a little better but 4 years into it, nothing. |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | One thing to do is to ignore him when you first come home or walk in the room. After about 15 mins then just acknowledge him. Then wait a few more mIns then you can touch him. When people come over tell them the same thing, ignore him. He will start to calm down. Just keep at it. You will not break him totally of it but he will pee a lot less
