Senior Yorkie Talker | HELP ! Separation Anxiety Bella is 8 weeks old. We picked her up last Saturday. When she is left alone, she cries....and by cry, I mean, she sounds like a bird being tortured. I tried putting her in a crate with my sweatshirt. I bought a bear that has "womb sounds", a ticking clock.....nothing seems to help unless she is touching me. Any suggestions? I am lucky enough to be able to be home with her, but I do occasionally need to run errands lol And I cant stand the thought of her doing this the WHOLE time. Bella 8 Week Old Yorkie Crying - YouTube

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | Awwww she is so sad. Teach her to be quite in a bag and take her along . She misses her mom and litter mates and you have taken their place. I have no good advice. ( maybe another yorkie) no that's not the best choice either How about a radio?

Senior Yorkie Talker | We have 2 other yorkies, a 7 month old and a 9 year old. I am scared to leave them alone just yet. The older on, Zoe, thats 9 is a little diva. The 7 month old is fine with her, she just likes to play alot. I just want to observe them a little more before leaving them alone for more than 10 min. I leave the tv on Spongebob, for noise, but apparently shes not a fan lol

Senior Yorkie Talker | Luckily my mom lives next door and she is often able to come sit with her while I run to bank, etc. My daughter, that is in vet school, is coming home from college today, so I will have more help lol Hopefully she grows out of this soon. Its just heartbreaking to hear.

| Given that she is soo young could be one issue. 3 of my dogs were at least 12-13 weeks old before they came to me and my other little guy was only 9 weeks old when we got him and I could tell a such a big difference with the separation anxiety. We had a terrible time with him. He would not sleep with the other dogs for at least 6 month after we got him, He had to be placed in a crate in our bedroom. When we were at work during the day we would leave a TV on. He was placed in an xpen and Iwould give him interactive toys to try and keep him occupied. Peanut butter and treats left inside a kong toy would keep him busy for at least an hour. Over time he became more and more comfortable to be left in his xpen while we were gone. It will get better. |
