Senior Yorkie Talker | Question about potty training My puppy of five months is making progress with his potty training during the day. At night, however, it is a different story. He does not like going out when it is dark and won't pee in the dark. We bring a flashlight and try to encourage him. He hates it and tugs on the leash to go back in. Then he inevitably pees somewhere in the house. It is very frustrating. Also, his new thing when outside during the day is to grab sticks or leaves and play with them (carry in his mouth) and it is hard to keep him focused on the job at hand. I am probably taking him out almost a dozen times. I reward him whenever he goes with a treat and praise. The biggest problem is the night and his reluctance to go. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! |
