| how to prevent yorkie from peeing when he is excited Chowie is constantly peeing whenever he is excited. Its like he can't control himself. Is there anything i can do to prevent him from going when he is excited. It happens whenever I come home from after work. I tried the coming into the room and ignoring them until they settle down. This works until i approach the crate. any help or ideas? thanks in advance. |

| He can not control himself. Try to keep the level of exictment down by ignoring him when he is and when it happens. It not like he wants to it is just it happens. It is not an act of submission it just over excitement. He may grow out of it but needs time and calm and no punishment as it ups the stress. One thing if it when he greets you toss him a toy to see if you can distract him from the excitement. |

| How many times have we gals said, "I was so excited I almost pee'd my pants." I think your little puppy will outgrow this. Everyone of mine that had that problem outgrew it. For sure don't discipline him for doing this. He is just so happy and loves you so much. Be happy to see him right back and give him a lot of kisses and hugs! Wipe up the pee and kiss him again. Be thankful he's a little dog - my sister's lab did that - and WOW! Pee all over..... Good luck! Carol Jean |

| thanks for the reply. I'm no upset at him or anything. I was just concern that i might be doing something to promote that type of behavior or reaction. Lowie doesn't pee on herself when she gets excited but Chowie does. they are both about 14 week old. |

| I agree with the above comments, My BF has a Cocker that does this,, do not get them excited,, come in and take outside,, NO HIGH VOICES,,they do outgrow it.

| It is best not to make a big deal when you first see them. I say a calm hello and then I take Bella out to potty. Then she comes flying back and we get hugs and kisses.
