The OP is of the same mindset as rescuemomma and I and wanted help with her pup. Why are we arguing this instead of helping her? OP, I hope someone gives you some good advice. I have a different problem with my own pup. He loves other dogs but is terrifie of people. We're working on it though. The only advice I can give you is don't rush change, it's not going to be helpful at all. I tried it when I wanted Kaji to adapt to people, but it didn't work.

| People (and dogs) seem to either love dog parks or hate them. Some see them as one big playground and others see the danger. I tried to take Lucy to the dog park - but it was obvious she was terrified each and every time. She did not engage with any of the dogs who even tried to play with her. Even at the dog park - she was the smallest one there and she could probably sense my nervousness at that. OP, with a rehome -you really might not know all that happened to her before she came to your home. You may be able to get her to enjoy the dog park by employing some of the suggestions made; or she may never really enjoy large groups of dogs. Time will tell. Either way, I assure you, she can be a happy and well-adjusted dog with or without a dog park.
