| ''Stay'' We bought our 9 month old yorkie last week....When she first came to us, it was obvious her previous owners hadn't spent much time with her as she wouldn't sit, she was very snappy, she barked and growled at us constantly, and wouldn't walk on her lead. We have spent alot of time trying to train her she now sits, gives her paw, and will lie down. We have been trying to train her to ''Stay'' but the problem is that she is quite greedy when it comes to food that she gets quite aggressive and will snap at our hands if we don't give her the treat. We don't seem to be getting anywhere with teaching her to ''Stay''. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice that i could follow with learning her to stay. |

| 9 months is old to start training. Since you have been able to train her to sit, down and shake? (gives paw), it sounds like you are definately making progress. I am wondering if your stay is like my "leave it". If so, I would put the treat directly in front of him with my hand over it - just enough so he could smell the treat. Little by little the hand came off and I can walk away. He'll sit there (ONLY if he can see me) until I say "go get it". Sounds like your on the right track! Keep with it, and good luck
