| Smokey: Puppy Cop! Whenever my hubby leaves the house or is gone and it's just me and the dogs, Smokey goes on puppy patrol and will bark at any leaf that happens to float by our apartment and it's driving me CRAZY! There is a small field/hill behind my apartment, 4 lanes of street, and he will still bark at the people on the other side of the street. When I'm home with him, he will constantly stand between the sliding glass door and the curtain. Any little thing that concerns him, he'll bark and bark and bark and bark or he'll bark while going between the front door and behind the curtain, back and forth like that. In the mornings he'll stand up on our headboard and will peak out of those curtains and bark. If I try and distract him or tell him no, he's started trying to bite me. He actually did get me the other day when I tried to pick him up and he'll growl at me until he realizes its me. It's really starting to stress me out and being pregnant is making it worse. I can't have him biting either when the baby comes. Smokey has always been protective over me - when we first brought him home 4 years ago, DH was working night shift, so I was still in bed when DH would come home. Smokey would run to greet DH, then run back to me and lay across my chest and growl. I had to snap him out of that one and it didn't take that long, but my point is how he's always been possessive/protective over me. Smokey is my little shadow too. He's always very cuddly with me and follows me everywhere. He is a mama's boy. When DH comes home, he is absolutely silent. No barking, just relaxing. I want him to be relaxed when it's just me home too! I don't know what to do....... I love him to death, but between his constant barking and my pregnant hormones, I'm on the verge of tears right now. (OMG he finally just laid down on the couch after 3 hours of patrolling the house.)

| RachelandSadie is having a similar problem, and she is also pregnant. You may want to pm her and you two can trade some tips.
