POTTY training both inside and out????

I forgot to mention...We pretty much live on back patio and I have privacy fenced in back yard...so the babies get to play outside all the time now cause they know where I want them to potty and if we are inside Bella & Harley will let me know they need to go outside by barking at me and will not leave me alone until I do let them out LOL...Ivy hasn't come to me YET to let me know but as soon as Bella or Harley starts with me Ivy does chime in...so I'm confident she is feeding off of them and will soon start telling me herself...LOL

I understand the crating issue too. I do not know who old Zoey is, but I crated Winnie at first too. It was raining here in Ohio everyday. She would go after most of the day in the crate, but at night I put her in her xpen. I knew that she would need to pee every hour and would probably poo in her crate. I have got her day schedule down, but at night she pees about 4 times and poo's once. I am going to set up a camera to watch her at night and find her poop schedule. I did not want her to get used to sleeping up in my room. She sleeps all night in her xpen with no crying. That was more important to me. I will start to let her out at night, once I figure out that schedule. The mosquitoes are terrible here, so to take her out at night I would have to bundle from head to toe and spray... YUCK

Hi my sophie pees anywhere she wants to she a sassy girl its so hard to train her.she hates it outside all she dose is bark she wants me . I used a cat box for her she jumps in and out i put her own pee in pads for her to smell then now she peeing in box yahoo

That is good to hear that she is using the box!!! My little girls is starting to show attitude. I take her out with a harsh and leash and when she wants to play she will grab the leash and try to walk herself! It is so funny!

Hello everyone. I need some advice on this topic. I've only had my puppy for a week. I've been at home with her since and although she's had a few accidents she has been doing pretty well going outside. Now my situation has changed. I just found out I'm having my 3rd baby. I'm already 12 weeks along. This means I need to go back to work until November. This means she will spend about 6 hrs alone at home. I'm thinking of getting her a bigger create, putting a dog litter box on one end and her bed on the other end. I'm going to do this exclusively (to avoid confusion) until I can be home full time in November then moving on to outdoor potty training.

This brings another issue. I live in Chicago where the weather can be brutal in the winter. So would it be best to keep her litter box trained or will she be able to handle chicago's winter weather? And if I litter train her permanently, how will this effect my already housebroken 5 yr old dog. I don't want him to think it's ok to do it in the house cause she can do it. Anyone been in a similar situation? Sorry for the long post. I just want to make it all work out.

Thats my dilemma too! I am also in Chicago and after today's morning rain, I realized its going to be harder when the snow hits so now I am trying to decide on how to get her trained for the pads in the home. I have an enclosed back porch and I could section off the area for her to do her pad using. I am just nervous that she will start going on the carpet in the living room if I convert her to pad training. Any suggestions on how to ease this transition or making both the inside and outside work? I'd actually prefer to do one over the other instead of doing both! LOL

The rain this morning was ridiculous. I took my poor puppy out and she was shivering the second we got outside. She wouldn't take a step when I put her down. There has to be a way to work this out.

my poor puppy would even take a step when i took he out this morning..she was shivering the entire time...i guess it will just take consistency and keeping a schedule. i'm sure someone who has been in our situation can offer some advice.

I think its too late for my Zoey. I put her on the pad and she just sat there even while I was saying, "potty" over and over. I gave up and just took her outside. Of course she went right away....*sighs*
