My stinka stay in bed wit me too! My boyfriend hates that the dog sleeps wit me .. but I love waking up to my stinka |
Suzi and Miely always can sleep in bed with us. Usually our yorkie , Suzi sleeps in my son's bed now. She does not bark at all during the night when she is with my son. But, our shih tzu will bark. I rather have one of the dogs in the front room with me at night becasue it feels safer. Both are great little watchdogs. |
My stinka stay in bed wit me too! My boyfriend hates that the dog sleeps wit me .. but I love waking up to my stinka My husband used to be like that. He couldnt stand to see animals on furniture... Something about this lil girl has him different... I think cuz he was so strict with our Chihuahua and I made him sit by his side as he was passing... And he had to deal with taking care of him afterwards... He felt bad, so now hes a big softy. ;) |

Awwh sorry to hear that! |
I'm kinda new to the board, I have mostly been reading, since I got my baby Topher. We just got him about a week ago, he's about 13 weeks old. He has been in my bed for day 1, I find he does excellent sleeping with me. No accidents at all, sometimes, I have to get up around 4am and put him on the pee pee pad he does his business then it's right back to bed and he sleeps until I get up and get ready for work which is typically around 6am, but on weekends he is good to sleep until whenever I want to get up and does great. He's had no accidents at all in the bed. My Chihuahua who's 3 yrs old also sleeps in my bed. We have 4 other dogs but they all actually prefer either sleeping in their crates or on the couch at night, they've just never wanted in the bed. But Toper and Andi (my female chihuahua) always prefer the bed. And both have since the first day I got them. |
Oh yes, my baby sleeps with us too! She thinks she's human :D We put her in the bed after about 4 nights of winning and she has been there for 5 yrs . Every once in awhile we will do the midnight potty thing , but for the most part she sleeps all night. |

Ziggy was in bed with me on Night 2 aswell. i just couldnt stand him crying! and neither could my Border collie, lol.. he hasnt had an accident in bed, he always wakes me up to go potty (and he's not even fully potty trained yet- only 10 weeks old) i think its instinctive. But i cant sleep with out him now anyway |
letting yorkie in bed with you My female yorkie is 3 now and sleeps in either my or childrens bed. Just got new boy baby on friday last and he been up by my pillow every night. Apart from a bit of wriggling and couple of toilet trips, all going well, bar the fact my resident girl not too impressed at her place being taken by new 'mutt on the block' and goes off to a different bed. Seems to be going smooth so far.....! |

Yorkie sleeping in bed? Yes & no When we first got our first Yorkie, she was already spoiled by her previous owner, she growled and whined to get on our bed. We ignored it for the first night. It was tough to sleep through it but after 20 minutes, she gave up and slept on her dog bed. On the second night, she did the same thing until my husband said a firm no. She stopped and went to her bed. She didn't complain again since then. After one year, I changed my mind and put her on my bed. It was so cute seeing how happy she was to be on our bed. She was hopping like she was hopping from a cloud to another in heaven. So adorable and she wasn't difficult to sleep next to as she likes to sleep under the cover and next to my feet. After few minutes, she'd get too warm and crawled out to sleep on top. :) |
Need pillowcases like this one Our Yorkie thinks that she's a princess, which cracks me up. I found these pillowcases and it's so perfect! Haha, check it out :) :animal36 |
Joel never cried in his crate, not even the first night. He slept in the crate until about 7-8months and now he sleeps with me, he's 11months:D |
Morgan sleeps with me/ he wakes up when I do usually around 6:30 |
Colby is still not fully potty-trained but we let him sleep with us during the first week because he cried loudly every night in his crate for hours and we were worried the neighbors would complain(we live in an apt). He did pretty well at first, slept most of the night and no accidents... and we have a high bed so he was too scared to jump off. Once he learned he can jump off the bed, it became a problem because he'd poop/pee in our room. So back to the crate he went. We are in our 3rd-4th week of having him and he only cries a little in his crate and then chills out. Once he is fully potty trained I'll let him sleep w us again because I love cuddling my wittle baby. <3 |
Our little girl sleeps with us most of the time she is crate trained and has never had an accident in our bed. My husband first said no never now he is the one who allowed it the first night which is great for all of us. We get to sleep in again. She stays in bed as long as we want to! She just got spayed & I'm only letting her sleep in there in the morning time now. I'm afraid we would hurt her until she heals up good! |

One thing about the Yorkie breed is that they want to be by you! I have both of my Yorkies in the bed and they are no trouble. They sleep peacefully and do not want to be in a cold crate. I even cover them up at night. Do I spoil my Yorkies? Yes and they love me! |

Our boys sleep with us and have since the first day they came home :) Wouldn't have it any other way! No accidents (knock on wood!) Though, do have to admit that I am seriously contemplating a king size bed now! One has to snuggle up close to either myself or my husband, while the other takes his sleep far more seriously and says his goodnights to us, then, makes his bed down by our feet. Nothing better than waking up to their sweet faces :animal36:animal36 |
Bedtime We had a few accidents at first....hubby was not pleased but now she will whimper to go potty. Our bed is way too high for her to jump on or jump down. Sometimes when we first get into bed she is hyper...it is her time to roughhouse with daddy. I do let her have some chew sticks that stay in the bed for her. She is very spoiled. |
I let Honey sleep with me. She gets under the covers then doesnt wake up until morning and thats so she can go outside and potty. When she comes back in from pottying she gets right back under the covers and go to sleep. |
My husband is always worried about kiki sleeping under the covers mainly at the foot of the bed! I told him she had to be comfortable or she wouldn't stay there |
Well Honey likes really soft blankets and pillows maybey you should try that so you want have to worry about her being under the covers. That is the only way Honey want sleep under the cover. |
Ours used to sleep with us in our bed till he decide that he will growl whenever someone moves or accidentaly touched him. Everytime he growls, we would wake up..so he sleeps in his own bed now by my bed or in his soft collapsible pet house also by my bed. I think he gets better sleep that way and so do we and at any time he needed some love, I can still reach him to pet him to sleep.:D |
Yes, we have always let our yorkies sleep in our bed from day 1. Teeka snuggles right up beside me and that is usually where she stays. Many a nights, I find myself without a pillow because she has take it over! Yorkies are little snuggle bugs and love the warmth and comfort of your bodies. Teeka is now 18 weeks and has not had an accident and sleeps through the night! |
Huey has slept in the bed with us since day 2. He sleeps under the covers curled up against either me or my hubby. He occasionally comes out of the covers if he gets hot, but then burrows back in. He has us trained well. Instead of him working to get under the covers himself (which usually ends up with him between the top sheet & comforter, making him difficult to find in the morning), he walks over whomever is in his way, sits on the pillow and paws at the covers a couple of times & then looks at you until you lift them for him to get in. Yes, he is rotten...but such a cuddlebug!!!! |
I let my morkie and westie-chin sleep with me, but not my three little yorkies. They're so small and I'm scared they'll accidentally fall off the bed and get hurt. So they all sleep together in their doggy bed at the foot of my bed. If I wasn't so paranoid, they would definitely be up there with the rest of us ;) |
Clyde slept with me from night one. He never had an accident on my bed not once. I've never had an issue with him =) ... Dexter slept in a crate at night for the first two weeks to teach him to hold his bladder. It was a miracle that Clyde didn't pee on my bed ... Foster puppies that slept on my bed ALWAYS PEED... and it absolutely ruined a brand new bed (I had to get a new one after only two years!!) After that point I started crate training until my I was positive the pup could hold the bladder without accidents through the night. Now my Yorkies both sleep on my bed .... but they have the option to sleep on their own bed if they want. I guess it is whatever they are in the mood for. |
