| How Did We Manage THAT ???? I just feel I need to tell you about my little girl and how good she is along with how lucky we to Re-Cycled Teenagers have been after the loss of our beloved American Cocker Rosie. We lost poor Rosie 10 April 2011 due to ill health poor girl was suffering and we could take no more. All that day Joan and I cried in each others arms that was the last of four Cockers who had passed on over the last ten years and we were left with nothing. That night Joan went out and I browsed the internet looking for a dog but wanting something small this time as we were getting older. I found two local breeders one who had two pups ready to leave the nest the other with a new litter of two weeks. We visited them both and paid a deposit on the dog who we collect 8th May 2011 and paid in full for the girl and brought her home with us. We went out and purchased a puppy bed and loads of toys. That night we expected trouble with a lonely puppy and thought she would cry all night. To our amazement she never made a peep right through the night but at 6am when I came into the room she jumped all over me licking my face and hands like there was no tomorrow, we were in love, no doubt about it. A few days later I brought down a soft crate which we used for the spaniels and I moved her comfy bed into it. Ruby took to it like a duck to water entering without us having to say a word made herself comfy and went to sleep. She has lived in her crate ever since and will go in for a sleep after we have had playtime. It is obvious she loves being in it. We can not believe our luck. No sleepless nights and a self crate trained puppy. What more can we wish for. Lets wait and see what happens when Raggs arrives on the 8th May. !!!! DSC_1510 small.jpg |

| I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear Rosie... RIP Rosie. Wow! I don't think you could do any better! Is your 2nd coming from the same breeder or a different one? She looks so cute and comfy in that crate... just what one likes to see! Good Luck with her! And more pics, please! We like cute!

| We went to visit Raggs today so I took the opportunity to grab a few photographs of him. He is the smallest of the litter but he is just so beautiful. I take it I am allowed to say "beautiful" as he is after all a boy so perhaps "hansom" would be better. Anyway, we think he is GOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRGIOUS !!!!!!!! We bring him home on the 8th which seems light years away right now !!!!!!! DSC_1554.JPG DSC_1551.JPG DSC_1562.JPG DSC_1564.JPG Last edited by bWY39; 05-02-2011 at 08:22 AM. |

| So sorry for your loss of Rosie. I hope you find comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering! Sounds like y'all are truly blessed with the wonderful personality of Ruby. I have to chuckle because I can't help but think Ruby is acting like that perfect infant for a couple and they think parenting is so easy. And then along comes Raggs a colicky little tyke! I so hope that is not the case for you but the thought put a smile on my face knowing how much these babies all have their own personalities and quirks just like skin kids. Best of luck to you as I am sure you are anxious to get Raggs home and settled. I can't wait to hear all the fun stories of these two together!

| Potty Training I thought I would give you an update regarding this little girl. Since we have had her I have been taking her to the yard every 30 mins for a pee. As she gets her butt down I say to her "good girl wee wee's" then make a big fuss when she finished. If she does a No2 I say "good girl be quick" and again make a big fuss when job done. This has been going on for the three weeks we have had her. Yes she has had the odd accident but so few we don't care and probably my fault for not reading the signs. Three days ago I found Ruby standing at the door with her nose pressed on the glass. Just standing there not moving. Didn't understand it at first so opened the door and she went out for a pee. The next time she did it I clicked and let her out saying she was a good girl. The end result is we now have a little girl who tells us she wants a pee and at just 11 weeks old I think that is not bad at all. We have never ever had a mess to greet us of a morning which is another good point for her and we are just astonished at that I can tell you. I suspect we have now run out of luck and Raggs will be totally the opposite. |

| I think you got very lucky. I used an xpen and Chachi the first yorkie I got didnt cry when I put him in it. My 2nd one Jewels did but she would stop and go to sleep if she saw me lay down to go to sleep. But if I was awake she would cry nonstop in it
