| Getting them in litterbox Simon and Nigel use the litterbox well for pooping, but they like to stand against the litterbox for peeing. Any suggestions in how to make them go inside to pee? |

| I tried the litter box with Simon and Hallie too and had the same problem! I finally reverted back to potty pads but for awhile I was literally picking them up and putting them in there and waiting for them to pee! Then they started toe at the litter so I quit, but maybe try that and see what happens. Or put a potty pad next to the litter box for a temporary fix. |

| Make sure the litter box is large enough so that you can fill a plastic bottle (size depending on the size of the dog) with sand or pebbles with a cover and I know that can work. Males dogs need to lift their leg on something.

| i use a litter box(with a pee pad inside) for my boy and he does the same thing. i dont know what to tell you to correct this, but i put a pad under the litter box with a little hanging out and that catches it...until you fix the problem maybe this will help with the clean up.

| I just had to pop in here and say this is the first time I have ever heard of a dog using a litter box! lol Is there any particular reason for using the litter box? Mine is going outside with no problem and only uses his puppy pad at night in the playpen. Not trying to be a smart*@$. lol I had honestly never heard of a dog being taught to use a litter box before. Emms |

| Just a few reasons Quote:
and 2) owner may be older and cannot handle the cold mornings or 3) the real Biggie man and woman both work the same hrs. Not many use litter and just the pads but I do hear it works well if you start them out that way.

| I work long hours + its cold outside I started using the litterbox from the start because I work 10 hour days. That is also why I got two pups so that they could entertain themselves. Also it gets really cold here in Minnesota. Several of my coworkers with small dogs actually use litterboxes because of the cold. |

| i was thinking about going to a litterbox, we have tried almost everything pee pads, outside, crate training and we are still having accidents so this is my next step. Those of you who use the box does it work and how do you intise them to go in it....lexi likes to walk around the yard FOREVER b4 she goes weewee. We are having such a hard time potty training it isn't even funny. We have all about given up....i might just resort to diapers soon. She is 9 months.
