| Need advice on Poop Training! So, Mosh is 9 months old and is is doing very well with house training. I have a "Dog litter pan" that I bought at the pet store. (If you haven't seen one, it's basically a little shallow bucket that you put a wee wee pad in.) We call it his Pee Pee Box. When we are inside, Mosh has no problem going into the pee pee box to pee.....but I CANNOT get him to poop in it! He is very smart and I DO think that he knows he should be going in there, yet he waits until I leave...and he poops RIGHT NEXT TO the pee pee box. I feel like I've tried everything, but he doesn't seem to be catching on. Has anyone else ever had this problem or have any good advice??? |

| Hi Buy another peepee box put it by the the other one and see if that helps...dogs don't pee and poop in the same area...I have 2 babies and they are outside trained and when I let them out...they go to one side of the yard to pee and the other side of the yard to poop...so that might be why he is pooping by the box and not in it cause has already peed in there and doesn't wanna go back in where he as already pottied.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Ok this may sound kind of gross but it works for me when I paper train my puppies. The next time he poo's, just pick it up and put it in the Pee box ! Once he smells his own scent he knows that that is the place he should be to do his business. You will need to bare the odor for a while, change out the poo if it is too smelly and start with a fresh poo until he gets the hang of it. Believe me I'm not crazy, it really works. It in a scence doing what they do when they go poo and pee outside... They find the scent from past deeds and do their business! Good luck ... Let me know if it works.

| Thank you for your suggestions! Dawn27, I have tried putting his poop in the pee pee box. He usually goes once in the morning, so I have picked it up and put in the box and left it there all day...but it didn't seem to work. He still went outside the box. How long would you leave the poop in there for? |
