| Peeing in his bed So I've gotten 3 beds for my dog Niko, one is fancier and stays in the living room and he never has had problems with that. He sleeps in bed with me at night but IN his bed which is placed on my bed. In his first bed, he slept in it for a while, and we used to cover it with a sheet because he was trying to tear it apart, so we put a pillow case in it to put "bed sheets" in it and he never peed on it. But once we took it off to wash it or something and he slept in it bare with no sheets and he peed on it (either during the night or sometime early in the AM after he had already been let out once) - I work nights so if i have a day off i sometimes sleep in till 11 am because I am used to sleeping during the day. Anyway, I got him a new bed on Black Friday and he slept in it fine but last night he peed on it (it was bare! - no sheets). Does anyone know a reason for this? What should I do? |

| I believe he is marking the bed as his territory ,sometimes when another animal comes around or something new is introduced such as furniture etc. a dog they will mark it as to lay claim to it . If he doesn't pee when the sheets are on it maybe because it already has a his or a familar scent on it because you wash it it has a different scent ,which may cause him to feel threatened or uncomfortable ! |
