Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Set back with potty training. Okay so Poppy has been pee pad treained since she was around 3 months old. We keep the pad at the back door and she would go to it all by herself. About a month ago we started to train her to go potty outside. She was doing pretty good, but she had no way of telling us she wanted to go outside. She would usually sniff the ground or look out of the window if she needed potty.. if we didnt see her doing this then she would go to her pad. For the past week I have only been giving her treats when she pottys outside. She was doing good and would potty every time I let her out. But the past few days she has been peeing and pooping in the house aswell as outside. Why is this? shes not going to her pad at all. Is this normal when switching from pad training to outside training? I have been keeping the pad at the back door just incase but shes not using it at all, should I remove it?

YT Addict | HI ! ! ! Don't feel badly. i feel like Hazel has regressed also. before she was sick last the week before last, she was doing VERY WELL on her puppy pads as well as peeing outside. but when she was sick, she first started missing the puppy pad by inches, but as the week went on adn she was still sick, she just started ignoring it completely. Now that shes better, if she's in her crate, she does her "potty whimper". otherwise i just take her outside frequently to see if she has to go. we haven't had any accidents in a while. its a working progress. i would keep the puppy pad there JUST IN CASE. there isn't a harm in it being there. i still keep Hazel's down even though she hasn't used it in forever. when she does the potty whimper, i'll take her out, and make her sit on top of it... she'll sit there for ages and CONTINUE doing the whimper instead of just peeing on it. she'd just rather go outside. |

| Yes I wouldnt worry too much either...its seems that our little guy has regressed a couple of times as well. I feel like I am re-training all the time...We are doing better now and I hope to have no accidents this week. But do not stress, puppies have little setbacks, like getting sick all the time and my vet told me not to worry. |
