| Climber? Anyone have one? Well unfortunately my playpen that I bought for Patrón seems to be more of a climbing wall than a enclosure for him. Does anyone have any solutions for stopping this climbing behavior? He has clearly jumped over a regular childrens gate and his playpen. I am terrified he is going to hurt himself, after seeing him do it once I put everything away for the time being. |

| I had a litter a while ago and the one boy was a climber. He would climb up on the tables and counter tops just like my cats, eating out of anything we happen to leave on the table. Worried me to death and he would climb the gates in a cinch. Nothing I could do to stop him, I just watched as much as I could. Sorry I have no solution, but he made me laugh a many a day as well as swear I was going to have a heart attack. None of the others were this way. I really hope someone else has a solution for you for now just love him and watch him.

Thor's Human Donating Member | Some people double up on the baby gates and xpen. There are also some xpens with sides that tilt inwards, or have enclosed tops.

| I had a climber. over anything and everything and even in a cone after surgry. My fix is a 500 size kennel. No climbing out of what has a lid. Fully out fitted for all the needs and room to spare. JL

| Kasha is a total jumper/flier/climber! She got out of a normal baby gate at about 4 months old. I currently have an extra tall gate which seems to hold her well. I'm not sure about how to stop them because they are determined little boogers but I would first recommend an extra tall baby gate or xpen and if that doesnt work a lidded one. I've also seen here a doubled up baby gate (one on top of another) which might also be a good idea.

Senior Yorkie Talker | I had that problem and was able to solve it by buying a 3ft high Precision expen. Set up in a 4 x 4 ft. square. I purchased a top for it and bought extra clips to be sure the top wouldn't fall in. Worked! I put him in there when I leave for work in the morning. He's not housebroken yet, so I don't have a choice. |
