Sleeping problems Rocky is about one year, he has been sleeping in a crate at night in our kitchen (we have a ranch house)...He has been awesome for this past year sleeping..all of a sudden this past week, he cries and barks at night. Sometimes 5-10 minutes after we put him to bed. Sometimes we bring him out and most of the time he just walks around outside without going to the bathroom, and if he does..and we put him back to bed he starts crying again soon after. And sometimes when we go to him..he will not want to go out at all...just either goes out of the crate and lays down or wants to play. Twice we had to let him cry it out this week (as with babies) I wanted him to stay in his crate for bed time as long as possible, he still has the tendencies of getting in trouble when not watched. Any suggestions?? Thanks Barry

Have you noticed any changes in his health at all? Is it possible that something is disturbing him? Have there been any recent changes that could cause emotional problems?

| Rocco started doing this same thing at about 6 months. One night I was so tired I let him sleep in our room next to the bed and he slept blessedly until AFTER we woke up! Needless to say, he no longer sleeps in the crate and is very good in our room, sleeps until we get up. I never found out why he did it, but my guess was he was getting too big to stretch out in his crate since he sleeps like a wiggle worm. Are you sure Rocky's crate isn't getting small?

My wife just called me at work to tell me he threw up in his crate while she was at the store, but he looks in good spirits and is still pooping, peeing and eating. Don't know what's wrong

last night at around 2am Rocky start to whine, so my wife went out took him out of his crate and laid with him on the couch...by the time she got up..he had gone back into his crate to lay down...confused about what this dog wants. We talked about letting him sleep in our bedroom on the floor, but don't know if that is a good idea suggestions?? Thanks Barry

ok..an update, We kept the crate in the kitchen for when we go out of the house..Rocky goes in...as for sleeping, he now sleeps in our bedroom on the floor on his own little bed...so far so good, he sleeps all night long. As for the throwing up, I think he got into something ...cause he was digging in the grass a couple of days before, and has not been sick since, Thanks for all the suggestions. Barry
