| Help!! Whining puppy!! I need some help. My new puppy will not adapt to the new crate. I first bought a pop up crate becuase he was so small and this morning i found him inside the crate and his head sticking out of a hole that he chewed. He whines and yells all night and i don't know what to do. is there anything i can put in the crate or things to do?? |

| Try purchasing a small wire crate with an interior divider to adjust the size as your pup grows. Walmart carries them at a reasonable price. Where is your pup's crate? At night, I would put it in your bedroom. During the day, place it in your living area (wherever you spend time) with the door open. Try placing a cover over the top of the crate using a towel or small blanket. The idea is to train your pup to view the crate as his safe, comfortable place. Hope some of this helps. |

| All good ideas...I'd just add to put something in the crate with your scent on it, like a shirt. |

| thanks thanks. well last night was horrible with the new wire crate. He screamed more than the first night. I put a shirt in the crate and all of a sudden he was a sleep and never made another sound. That is a life saver!! |

| I'm glad the shirt is working! yay! My Bailey never really took to the crate. Although she quit whinning when shh'd- she just never liked them. The crate was very important when potty training - so, after potty training - we got rid of them. Good Luck!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I didn't crate train but did try when I got my 2nd - well - that didn't work - she hated it and I caved. Luckily back then I was there or my husband but things worked out - good luck - crate training done right can be the best option for most people - |
