| ![]() Thanks so much. That was just the info I needed. I have two 7 week old puppies and I don't know quite what to do with them. I had one for 10 years but the puppy stage was a looonnnngggg time ago. Keep that info coming. Like, when should they get their first bath? |

That is really young, so don't expect much ![]() I shouldn't say this b/c I know I am asking for trouble :zip: but Shelby was really easy to wee pad train. The secret is confining them to small areas with gates or expens, pick up all rugs in the area and lay down a wee pad. Don't move the wee pads around and be sure to plant them in places where you can keep them forever. Shelby has one upstairs (in her expen area that has waterproof pad protecting the carpet in case of mistakes) and one downstairs (in the kitchen area that we gated off when she was tiny) Every time you catch them going on the pad (or newspaper) make a huge deal out of it and give a little treat (tiny piece of natural balance meat roll). When you see them go in the wrong place, say nothing, and clean up quickly. When I gave shelby the treat I always said "good potty" so eventually she would do "good potty" when I asked her too. Now she does it outside if I ask. Shelby was 99% trained by 5 months. Now she only misses her pad b/c sometimes she sits on the edge and her pee pee goes over the side. Does that count? | |
