| Pooping on the pad....peeing ELSEWEAR okay so Seeker will go to the pad in the kitchen to poop. its it or miss, but if he misses and is darn close to the pad. But for peeing, he wont go find it. Im taking him to it frequent to pee, but he wont go.....hes going to the rug when i turn my back. At night, he is blocked in an area the length of my bed, where he has his bed, food, water, and a pad....and he goes pee and poop on the pad..... |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Bridget will not pee and poop on the same pad no matter what - I have 2 pads right next to each other and she will ALWAYS poop on the one and pee on the other....and always the same one for each job!

You've answered your own question. You shouldn't ever "turn your back" on a puppy who isn't housetrained. You need to keep him confined, like you do at night, unless you can watch him with 100% of your attention. | |

| i feel bad keeping him confined. I blocked him into the kitchen with his bad, his crate with a bed food and water. so he has to leave the crate which is his bed to go to the pad. he does this when we go out fine.... |

I always felt bad about confining Bridget. During the day she is confined to her bedroom with 2 pads (my daughters old bedroom) - and for her - which is probably just her quirkiness - she will not do all her business on just one pad. If there is only one down - she will pee on the pad and poop on the floor. (which I guess is better than the opposite). When she is out of her room playing she will stop and run back to her room to do her thing. At 7.5 months old I have no problem giving her run of the house (knock on wood), but do confine her for the day for her own safety. I only have one set of pads down in the entire house (not a huge house 8 rooms)...in her room. It has been like this for about about a month already. (Now I'll probably find a huge pile somewhere). Hope you find an answer - It's tough when they do things sometimes and not others - it's hard to know WHAT to do. He'll get it - even my son was harder to potty train than my daughter....maybe it's a boy thing!
