Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | training is the same. you just really need to be careful that he does not get teh splint wet. if it gets wet at all you need to go back to the vet to get it changed. bacteria and infection thrive in a dark damp splint, especially if its wet with urine.

you can wrap it in a plastic bag for little trips on non-rowdy dogs. i'd double bag it actually. the problem is most plastic bags you get from the grocery end up getting a hole somewhere in the bottom. Or the dog is too rambuncious outside and can tear the bag. Or if you want to walk the dog on the sidewalk, it could rip the bag. If its just a short few minutes outside to pee in the backyard full of grass on a leash with no funny business then that's ok with two plastic bags on it. the medipaws are just so much easier. slip it on and secure the velcro. no fumbling with putting the bags on and then wraping them around so its not big and flapping around and then securing it with a rubber band or tape. then after the potty break you gotta try and take it off while the dog is trying to get away to run back in the house. LOL i find the little velcro straps or bungee cord at the top much easier.
