That's the best time to work with them, when they are hungry. When I did an obedience course with one of my other dogs the trainers asked that if we could to not feed them right before we went to class. Keep working, after a while you'll be surprised all the great tricks you are able to teach Frankie. Then you'll be surprised when she starts picking up things that you didn't even try to teach her.

our next step is staying and then come. any suggestions??? she's being really goofy and playful for these.

Great job teaching sit! Joey learned stay really quickly although I must say that stay is easier to teach from the down position because it's more comfortable for them. So, you might teach down first (which is also really easy to teach).
