| Help I have a 4 year old yorkie that is generally pretty good EXCEPT she pees in her cage everyday!! I have tried everything she goes outside and pees but when we put her in her cage she pees on the blanket and if you take the blanket out she just pees on the plastic of the cage and sits in it. It is driving me crazy I have tried different size cages but doesn't help. She has plenty of opportunities to go outside. I am soooo tired of washing dog bedding because of the smell any suggestions??????????????????? |

| I put a pee pad on the front half and a cat bed (half back) on the back end. The first two nights she tee tee'd bcs I didn't hear her wimper to go out but after that she learned to hold it. I let her out at 11 and she wakes me up at 6 a.m. to go potty. the past two weeks she's had zero accidents in her crate. I watch her VERY close in the house and when she squats, I simply distract her with a "let's go" and take her outside. She does her business outside then comes in. She stays in the crate much of the time even though I'm home bcs I want to build up her ability to hold it.

| This may not cure the problem, but have you thought about diapers so that you don't have to wash the blanket every time. Are you washing the blanket with some vinegar to remove the urine smell from it? Cutting down her space may help you. sometimes even with a small crate they will potty in a corner. We actually had to stick a plastic milk container in our older dogs crate to cut down on the size to get past the potty in one corner sleep in another. |

| A trainer told me that I shouldn't put a blanket or toy in the crate. My dog use to pee on the blanket all the time. They will pee on blanket and then kick it out of the way. She hasn't peed one time since I took it out. |
