| Puppy school is paying off As some of you know, Ruger went to puppy school at Petco and it's really paying off. He walks much better both on and off leash, and he even comes when called, sometimes after he's inspected what he was after. The commands "Look" and "Close" work wonders, and unless distracted he will stay close to me and keeps looking back, which is a very good sign. He's still a puppy so I'm hoping eventually he will settle down and my commands will be able to overcome his curiosity. As I said before, I had a good experience at Petco, but it's the individual trainer not the place, and I suggest talking to him/her before enrolling in a class. |

| It was about $100 for 6 weeks, but because Ruger was the only one in the class it was 5 weeks. My instructor said that having other dogs in the class for socialization is overrated, and he did use other dogs in the store for some training things. Obviously, the class is for you, not the dog, but you learn a lot about behavior, and the stupid mistakes all owners make. |

| Glad that it's been a good thing. I have found it to be true that puppy class is more for the owners as well. lol I certainly learned a lot!
