| I REALLY need help with walking Layla. I am so desperate I eamiled Cesar (who I love, but that's how desperate I am). Layla HATES walking- end. of. story. I can't remember her ever loving it. This wasn't SUCH a big problem in the summer because she could get her exercise by playing fetch in the backyard, which she will do until the cows come home. But being winter- she HAS to walk. She PROUDLY lost a pound (vet said it was needed) while we were in Florida. There, I could pick her up for the beginning of the walk, and she would walk the end portion. However, here at home- I live in a subdivision that is kinda in the middle of no where and I am not comfortable going outside of our little area AND the worst part is- she KNOWS where home is and is constantly trying to turn around and head back. I know that picking her up is NOT the answer, but neither is dragging her down the street. It also does not matter if I bring her to a park to walk- she won't do it there- she just wants to go back in the car. She is not scared (doesn't shake) and is quite happy to sniff around but as soon as we start on a serious I-am-in-charge-walk- she puts the breaks on. I have ALSO tried rewarding her walking with treats- she isn't having it. Sorry this is so long. I can't have her gain that pound back. Right now I am trying the treadmill- but we are just in the "treat for jumping on it" stage- no where close to her getting her needed exercise on it. She was doing so well today on it i tried turning it on- she wasn't having it. Ok- i've rambled long enough we just need help. |

| My Laci is Fetch " ball " obsessed , she will play till the cows come home, but she will also walk really good on the leash if I use a squeaker ball!!! I just keep squeaking and walking, she walks with anticipation that I am going to throw the ball.. I just got one of those retractable leashes, which she can still run while on the leash... can you try putting her on the leash and throwing the ball to see if she will just walk like 5 feet, pick it up and do it again till she gets comfortable??? Laci would walk up a 4 foot snow pile just to get the ball!

| We have tons of snow and its Freeeeeeeeeeeeeezing here also , but I still try to play fetch with her on the walk way to my house , its only like 15 feet but it sure gets her tired, I just keep throwing it back and forth and back and forth, I got the retractable leash for the same reason, if we can play in a parking area , I could keep her on the leash making sure no cars are coming I could throw it just a few feet have her catch it and we could walk while playing fetch!! We have that same squeaker soccor ball, Laci loves it too!
