Senior Yorkie Talker | re training to use potty pads after going outside? So when bentley was a puppy he was fully trained on potty pads but then i moved to a place with a yard and trained him to go out side, but now im back in a smaller place with no yard and when im at work id like him to use potty pads in case my boyfriend isnt home to take him out. Iv been trying to get him to go on them but he refuses. he will sit there and shake cause he has to go so bad but wont go on them!! is there a way to have him trained on potty pads for when im home but still have him go outside when i am home? plus id like him to go on potty pads when its raining cause he will take one look outside and run right back in and hold it till it stops raining lol. help me!

| Well since he is used to going on grass outside, why don't you get a bunch of grass (or fake) and put it on the pee pad? It might make him think he is going outside since he would feel the grass under his paws. Hope I helped!

☺Farrah☺ Donating Member | Search the threads, somewhere I read about a spray you put on the pee pads to "entice" your little one to use it. Sorry I forgot what it is called. Good Luck.

| I am interested to know if there is a way to get them to do both as well...mine were all trained on pads until they were big enough to use the doggie door and now they dont want the pads either...would be nice for them to use both good luck!

| You may want to buy a piece of sod from your local home depot or Lowe's and place that on top of a pad on your deck or patio. He may go then?? Have you placed the pad outside for him to go?? He may not want to go in the house...
