| seemingly trained yorkie only pottys when we're at work Hello all, new here and desperate for help. My GF and i have a yorkie(Maui) that is almost 6 months old and we are going crazy with her spurts of good and bad. its been a bumpy road but it seemed as though we were out of the woods and she was becoming reliable. she would hold it while we were at work most of the time, One of us would go home at lunch so she was only waiting 4 hours at a time. When we're home she doesn't potty in the house, in fact she will warn us when she needs to go most times if we don't think to take her out on our own. we thought everything was on the right track until she started having accidents in the crate during the 2-four hour lengths while we were at work. we read everywhere that she'd do it once or twice then realize she didnt want to lay in that all day and stop, but she didnt. She still just goes even if we're gone for less than the usual four hours. recently we thought maybe she was too couped up so we used a child gate in our bathroom to make a small enclosure of about 3' by 3', with her bed and a shirt of mine to attempt to help with the codependency if that is the cause. Yet again, we were disappointed to find that she peed while we were gone. HHHEEELLLPPP Any advice or insight is appreciated, we love her to death but have to break this habit. TIA |
