| seperating puppies We have two yorkie puppies....one is 16 weeks and the other is 13 weeks. They LOVE eachother (both males). We crate them together at night and have no problems, actually they do not cry unless they have to go to the bathroom. During the day while we are at work (7:30-3) we put them in seperate areas. They are little gated areas but gives them a little more room to move than the crate. They do fine in their areas and can go all day without messing, but every once in a while they will poop during the day. When I put them up in the morning before I leave they are so sad and start yelping. I feel so bad but I know I have to do it for their safety. My question is, can I or should I put them in the same area together instead so they aren't so lonely? The vet said to seperate them during the night or the day, but I feel like this just makes them more sad? I was just wondering what you guys thought or what you would do. |

| I think it is good for them to have time apart so they dont bond so closely that they begin to exclude you. However, I would keep them together during the day... this way they have someone to play with, etc. Then I would crate them separately at night since they should only be sleeping anyway. You can also make sure you have individual training sessions and walks. |
