| Rotten! lol Ok so I've had Silver for only a week and she has a bad biting problem. The owners of her parents let her chew on their fingers and whatever else so now she has the biggest toe chewing fetish I have ever encountered. She has about 5 toys and a couple bones but she insists on my toes! How can I break her of this considering someone else has taught her it's ok to do. Also the first few days we had her she was GREAT about using the puppy pad and now she prefers the rug by the front door and the tile in the kitchen. I want to teach her to use puppy pads because I am disabled and I can't always take her out and my roommate takes her out when he's home so if you have suggestions on getting her to start using the pad again I would appreciate it a lot. Do the same for your kitchen. For puppy pad training limit her space. Take her to her pee pads, after eating, getting up from sleeping, and every two hours, reward her richly for going potty, and when you see her go, use the command go potty, or something similar. Toe biting, umm harder. Get yourself a long feather or something soft, and everytime she goes for your toes, sharp no, wave the wand, and then if she ceases and desists immediately good girl. Then give chew toy. they are ravenous for chewing as pups, so have lots of good chew toys around. Hope this helps

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Spray bitter apple or other yucky tasting spray made to disgust dogs on your toes. A couple of nibbles and most dogs would get the hint. I would not spray it on my fingers because there will be times you want her to lick nautical or other "food" off your fingers. |
