| Behavior changes Hi everyone, I am having a problem with my 10 month yorkie. She has always slept and cuddled with my husband and I at night. However, this past week she has preferred to sleep in the floor and if she does lay next to us and we touch her she runs away. It seems like she doesn't want us to be next her. We place her on our bed and she runs off to the floor to sleep on her bed. She had never done this before. She has always been so attached to us.. and always has wanted to be next to us when we are home. I do not know what can be wrong with her.. or if we did anything wrong..(I have never hit her or anything like that) it crushes my heart to know she doesn't want to be with us.. I miss sleeping with her so much.. has anyone experienced this before with your yorkie? Or does anyone know what could be wrong? Only thing I could think of is that we had family over for the thanksgiving weekend.. and lots of kids.. could it be that she is jealous? |

| I can't exactally answer your question, however, when Buddy sleeps by me while I watch TV if I touch him he get's up and goes into the living room to sleep. LOL That bother's me also since I work all day and enjoy spending the evening with him. He does sleep next to me during the night tho and I would miss him if he werent' there. I guess they get annoyed when their sleeping. Try not touching her when she's on the bed with you. Hard I know but you gotta do what you gotta do to keep her there. |

| Is it possible that the kids could have injured her? Not wanting to be close to you may mean she is in pain. |

| Jackson went through a phase at around 8 months old where he preferred to sleep on the floor and not beside me. It hurt my feelings! LOL. It lasted for a few weeks and now he sleeps right next to me all night again ever since. Sometimes they go through phases.

| Have she been spayed?? Livi's first heat was at 10 months old and she did not act like herself during that time. Last edited by TammyJM; 11-30-2009 at 04:45 PM. |

| Mine all sleep with me unless their not feeling well. Then they'll go down and sleep on their beds. Could it be that your baby isn't feeling good?

| 10 months .... That's close to the time that hormones will start to kick in I bet that's the reason why Once she's spayed and things settle down I bet you'll have your old dog back
