I just purchased my second Yorkie a 6 mo male... I have two problems potty training him and barking... He has a pee pad that he won't use but will shred and go pee elsewhere or hold it til he can pee elsewhere and he barks and whines morning noon and night... My 1st Yorkie was 11 mo and he was potty trained fairly easy and never barked... Taking into consideration they are two different yorkies how do I correct both problems...

| It is sad to announce that the amazing author of this article, Dr. Sophia Yin, passed away last month due to suicide. May her excellent advice and work continue to be shared.

OMG. This is such shocking news! I've been using her guidelines and watching her Youtube videos ever since I got my puppy 3 months ago. That's very tragic that she's gone now. It's very sad news... especially since I've dealt with depression before too... Last edited by canana; 01-16-2015 at 12:08 PM.

had questions I got a lot of good information on the link shared and had questions. It's so very sad such a talented women took her life when she had so much more to offer. My puppy is 10 1/2 months old and I was wondering if the method of leash training attached to myself is to late to start now. He doesn't come when called . We did the petsmart begginer class and passed with flying colors. He seems to be going in reverse. Suggestions welcome!

HI everyone, I'm new to posting, so if I mess this up somehow, please forgive me (?) My baby Sheba (short for Bathsheba, lol) is 4 months old now; brought home 8 wks. I'd like to teach her some things, but the links above are dead...as well as many others I've come across on this forum Does anyone have any advice for me? I want her to come on command, but since I picked her out at a breeders home, she jumps back. My husband thinks she's playing, but it is frustrating. I spend the majority of time with her (hubby is traveling consultant) so I'm the main caregiver & I want to learn how to train her. I've only had large dogs in the past; shepherds, mixed, rottweilers, etc in the past...always adopted, but hubby's dog passed & nothing could console him except another dog. I said either a yorkie or a rottie... LoL! Anyway, looking for some good advice. Thank you!

Help! I am new to this site. I have to know how you pottie trained your yorkie in 3 days. My puppy is 12 weeks. We have had her for almost 3 weeks now. We are training her on the wee wee pads. I started to get her to pee on them but never poop. Now she hardly even goes at all on them. I would appreciate any advice you could give me. Thank you!!
