| Brinks says, "no treat no trick" please help!! I have been using treats to train my dog and he refuses to do tricks without a treat. In order to keep him intrested he has to know i have something. How do I get him to perform with out the the treats. He is spoiled rotten with affection and gets it all day long so he dosent look at it as a reward he expects it and in some cases demands attention. What else can I try? |

Everyone starts one treat one rick and if stays that way. What needs to happen is right after the skill is learned the treats need to become random. So now it should be one treat for two then one for three and one for one in random pattern. Also the demands ignore them. Also put everything on nothing in life is free if he wants something we has to do anything. SO he wants a pat he sits. He wants supper he downs. He earns everything. What hs happened is that the treat is now a bribe not a pay cheque. JL
