| ![]() Hi everyone, I just purchased a 14 wk old male Yorkie and am trying to potty train in a playpen. So far he will poop on the pee pad and sometimes squat to pee on the pad. Not too many accidents so far and I've only had him 3 days but today I noticed he is lifting his leg against the sides of the playpen and peeing. Is this normal for such a young puppy? Since I live in Phoenix and it is entirely too hot to take him outside to go, I have to have him go on a pad. Any suggestions? Thank-you. ![]() |

| ![]() I have three boys and one of them loves to lift his leg and he needs to go on something. He also started this at a very young age. It sometimes gets hard because he would get it all over and I was constantly cleaning urine. Then I found this little cardboard fire hydrants (I think they also have a scent on them so they want to go on it) I put it on top of the potty pad and it seems to help. I bought it online at gwlittle. Hope that helps. ![]()

| ![]() I thought it was a little abnormal for him to start this so young but I went to the website and ordered them. Hopefully it will work and then when it gets cooler outside he can go normally. |

| ![]() Fortunately Hot Rod didn't pick up his leg til much later-after he was neutered. I've read that some put a pee pad around a soda bottle to make it like a tree so the little one could use it and at least you could get him to go where you want him to. ![]()

| ![]() My Bailey started this as well, He is about 4 1/2 months, He is good at going on the pads. He lifts his leg just a little but goes on the pad still. I was amazed how early they learn this.

| ![]() All my boys had been squatters. But, Frankie was a leg lifter from the get go. I have a pad outside his crate, because when I crate him, he wizzes out the door when I am gone.
