| Thor's Human Donating Member | I found that I have to keep the pad away from the wall - if it's close, Thor tries to mark the wall every once in a while. Someone suggested the coke bottle thing to me, but they left out the part about covering it with a pee pad! I was like, that's nice, but then won't I have a really smelly, disgusting bottle in my apartment?? To the person who complained about the pee pad smell - I really like Nature's Miracle pads, I think they absorb smell better. I will leave my pads out for several days, and they are fine (at least I think so!). Also, if you want to go all out, you can spend $100+ on a darling little fire hydrant... but again, you'll have to hose it off separately.

My male yorkie (now 14 months) is pee pad trained however we keep the pee pads in litter pans. He lifts his leg on walks and at the park but at home he squats.

I used to have a male maltese and we never neutered him, he started out doing what my female yorkie does now squatting but lifting one leg a little, and then he would always run to the same post outside every day to lift his leg on. I miss my Caeser.

I use the rascal litter box for my baby boy. He lifts his little leg and it's perfect since it has sides. RASCAL DOG LITTER BOX COMPANY, LLC HOME PAGE

I had great success with the pee pad until I decided to move it! Now he just used it when he feels like it. He is starting to enjoy going outside now. I also noticed that he is very picky about how many times he will use the pad, only three times for pee and then he won't go near it!

My Boys use a fire hydrant. It is actually a big dog toy, but it works great for these little guys. LOL

Buster Brown uses a pee pad in the bathroom when in the house and goes outside as well. He sometimes misses in the house when his front feet are on the pad and the back feet are off. He was neutered when he was 2 months old as he had to have a hernia surgery so the breeder did it then. He will be a year on July 6 and still is a squatter. I tried to use the grass potty inside he would poop on the grass but would only pee on a pad. I have just started with the washable pee pads, what a money saver! I put a regular pee pad over the top right now to transition him.
