| Wish I would have done this 1st! Sep Anxiety Cure! Hey all... Awhile back I posted about my Snickers having Separation Anxiety and we did 1 important thing and it has gotten 90% better!! All he needed was to look out a window!! We ended up getting a great condition used baby playpen, made it all cuddly with toys, his kong etc and put it next to a window and he has been doing SO MUCH better ever since. We have been doing this a little over 2 weeks and he loves it!! It has mesh sides so he can see through and he loves watching the cars go buy (we live a short distance from a main road and he can see small cars passing a ways away.) We also keep a belly band on him and he has had about 2 accidents since we switched to the playpen. SO HAPPY!!! He even loves being in there when we are home, he can still see us and is happy. WHEW!!!! Perhaps if others are going through this, it can help. Thanks-

| I don't know why I post these things when all it does is jinx me. Snick had a horrible last 2 days--my husband thinks it's our fault as we have altered our routine due to SNOW again, we did not walk him before leaving him like we usually do and he has had accidents in his playpen....UGH! Might not be anxiety though...but I am posting this to un-curse me!! Hopefully...

| I am so glad to hear he likes his pen! We use one at night next to our bed for Pippo.

| ohhhh nooooooo! I hope the little guy was just confused and gets right back on track!!! Are you leaving him in the belly bands while you are gone still? That is a question that maybe you can help me with, when you use the bands, do you still offer water? it seem that it would kind of torture the little guy. If you are maybe that is why, he wasnt getting it all out of the walk too. ~~~~CURSE BE LIFTED!~~~~~~

| No, we don't give him water and even when we leave it down, he doesn't drink it after eating his raw in the morning or after his banana or apple snack in afternoon. He had a good afternoon, it was our fault, we should've walked him before leaving him like we always do...tomorrow will be better...afternoon was perfect! Knock on wood...ugh! Thanks for the support gyals....xoxox

| You know I must mention somethinf super important about this playpen. This evening, I put Snick in just so he knows when he goes in, it doesn't always mean we are leaving. THIS IS THE ONLY CONFINEMENT he has been in where he does not cry, whine, bark, nothing! He plays with his toys and chews on his nylabone/orka. The other types we have tried are a normal crate, and in the bathroom or hallway w/ a babygate. All he would do is CRY and whimper and make us feel like crap that we were torturing him. It was horrible!! We know he had accidents b/c we were off routine, he is so much happier.

| YAY!!!That is great! I wonder why he feels so comfortable in there? Maybe he feels like it's his own little comfy area instead of being just blocked off in a room. I know that our puppy will cry if he cant see us either, because it is so open feeling maybe he dosnt feel locked up! I really hope that he continues to be a good little boy in there! Is it literally a baby play pen with an open top and a netting on all four sides? I hope people read this and try it out as well, it seems so much better than a cage to me!

| Haha yes it is an actual baby playpen with mesh see through sides. I found it used on craigslist, washed it properly and it works perfect. It's about 3x3 pen so a pretty good size. Like I said, he loves it in there. I fed him in there as well last night and he ate all his food--meaning he feels secure. It is so much easier than the babygate as well. Where we have it placed, he can see us all the time to since it is in our main grand room. I think location is key as well, in the grand room he can see us, see outside, and hear everything. These are all important factors to make them feel safe.

| haha! ok, that is what we use at night for our puppy! I hope more people start to use them. We got the idea from the breeder, she had one of her pups in one. We actually just thought it was so cute, it was just bouncing away in there! I agree though, it is all about comfort and location!
