| Sleeps on her pee My little one is only 3 1/2 months old. The breeder recommended crate training as the best method for potty training her. So at night I keep her in her crate. The first time she had an accident in her crate she was so upset and was standing up in her crate trying not to touch the pee. I am thinking that first time was the normal reaction. Now she lets out one yelp and then that is it. I try to get her out of her crate and she is so tired she doesn't want to. She tries to crawl back in right away. I was told dogs don't like to sleep where they pee. Mine seems to be ok with it. I have a pillow that she sleeps on in her crate and a blankie that the breeder gave me that has her puppy-home scent on it. Is it possible that the pee is being absorbed into these and she doesn't feel the wetness as much. I would feel so bad taking them away because they make her so comfortable and cozy- she really loves her crate. Anyone else experience something similar? |

| Yes, thats exactly it, she prob pee's in the pillow/blanket and then it does not bother her. Mine did/does the same while we are at work and if he freaks and can't hold it (he has sep anxiety.) Try to keep the bedding to a minimum and that should help. Mine also would pee in his bedding and scoot it to the corner so he didn't have to deal with it, they are clever! Make sure the crate is the right size for her too, just so she can lay down, turn around, and stand up. I know you want her to be comfy, but just put a small washcloth or something lighter in there..nothing too thick. Good luck!!

| Clarence is old, so somethimes he pees in his crate (he has room to get away from it). Anyway, when I wash his bedding, I put some Natures Miracle for the wash in with it, to neutralize the odor. |
